Broomall is a town located in Marple Township within Delaware County, Pennsylvania. The quaint but never boring suburb of Philadelphia plays host to a variety of small businesses and families. In fact, Broomall’s population as of the 2010 census was estimated to be around 10,789 people. Of this population, over half are families, most of which in the middle class with a median salary of approximately $50,000.

The town’s origins are rooted in the arrival of English Quakers in the late 17th century. They sought out a home free from religious persecution and full of economic opportunity. Around the time of the Revolution, the town evolved from mostly farmland and plantations into an area with businesses of more particular trades. Weavers, millers, and tanners were only a few of the kinds of tradespeople that came to call Broomall home.

During the Industrial Revolution of the 19th century, the township experienced a population boom. Job opportunities were abundant along the Delaware River, and many moved to pursue them. With the establishment of better roads and a railway, the town only continued to grow into the vibrant, populous suburb it is today.
